I have some files that errored during transfer to my PDA, and now i can't delete them--so i was curiuos how would i reset my palm to factor defaults?? a hard reset? how do you got about such a thing?

Hold down the power button while pressing in on the reset button (on the left side) with your stylus. Respond with yes when it asks you if you want to do a hard reset.

According to page 25 of the Axim X5 User Guide:

To perform a "hard reset":

1. Press and hold the power button
2. With the stylus, hold the reset button for about 2 seconds.
3. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Just like new....

I would try a soft reset first. That just involves hitting that little button underneath the record button on the left side of the unit.

Irongeek beat my reply by a minute. I guess it took me to long to pull out the manual. :oops:

Thanks for all the help guys (my manual is packed away inside a box piled inside my closet)--but as soon as i posted here, i went thought dell support and looked it up--your help has been greatly appreciated

btw, a soft reset wouldn't allow me to delete the files :)
