All memory is 15% off. I ordered a Scandisk 256mb SD card for $66.81. Not a bad deal as far as I can tell.

I should have been late to work this morning and ordered the 512mb Sandisk card... I just got home and went to order it... they jacked the price up. It's now $140

If you check the price, it says $97, but as soon as you go to add it to your cart... $140

But good news... the 1GB Sandisk CF card dropped to $201 now.

Here are some other options:

Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005MIS8/ref%3Dnosim/techbargainscom/102-5036101-1356903) has Viking 512MB Compactflash for $159.99 - $50 rebate = $109.99 shipped free. 8x-15x write speed.

Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00006B9QF/ref%3Dnosim/techbargainscom/102-5036101-1356903) dropped its price on the Sandisk 512MB Compactflash to only $124.99 - $35 rebate = $89.99 shipped free. Rebate exp 2/8. For this item, make sure that it is being offered by Amazon, not by J&R. Check back frequently as they do update their page once they have stock available.

Don't know where your getting $124 before rebate.... every Sandisk512mb card on Amazon is at $149, no matter who is selling it.

I saw this price on Amazon yesterday. $124 for the Sandisk 512 before rebate when it was being sold by Amazon. Currently is it being sold by J&R for $149 since Amazon is already out of stock. If you see that it is again being carried by Amazon, the price should go back to the original $124, and the rebate should appear again. And of course, the rebate link will show up. Can't guarantee that Amazon gets more stock in before the rebate expires though.

Unfortunately I cannot prove this to you since I didn't purchase one myself. I regretfully already purchased the Viking 512MB over 1 month ago for $180 - $50 rebate. Oh well. Such is life. :?

If someone did get in on this deal and can confirm this with us, that would be great. I'd hate to be posting incorrect information here and making a complete fool of myself.

I want to know if anyone was able to buy from Dell at those low prices...

I was running late for work this morning, and had the CC card at the ready, had it in my cart... but had to run. Thought I'd grab it the second I got home...

I'll keep an eye on boththe dell and amazon prices. Also looking into getting an IBM 1GB microdrive... can get one for $220, or a 1GB sandisk for $202... I'd rather have the Microdrive. Except people say it's a rather tight fit on the Axim... :?

I think the dell site is fudged. When I first went to order the 256 mb card it read as the original price even though I clicked through to the shopping cart from the item sale price listing. However, when I went back later it took the discount off. It still shows as regular price and then at the bottom gives the discount. In my case, it showed my order at 78.60 and then subtracted the 11.79 at the bottom of the order. Great thing about the Dell is they are still giving free ground shipping as well. I wish I had a little more spare change around so I could get a bigger card but I think 256 mb will be ok for now. It's not like they are not removable and the prices are going to continue to drop any how.

Backlash,

I JUST purchased the 1G MD (less than 2 weeks old). I would rather the sandisk. If you're interested, I'll sell you my MD for $190 and that would include shipping and the card adapter. I have all original packaging, CD, and diskette.

I wouldn't recommend the Microdrive for PDA use simply because they drain more power. Plus, solid state media is always more reliable as well - no moving parts.

If you really want a 1GB Microdrive though, here's a price that's pretty good. Dunno about the retailer though...got this from www.dealnews.com

IBM 1GB Microdrive for $195 shipped
Digi4me.com offers the IBM 1GB Microdrive for $195. Use coupon code "s399" for free shipping. That's $4 less than last week's mention and the lowest total price we've seen. IBM Microdrives are 3600 rpm hard drives that plug into the CompactFlash slot in most PDAs, digital cameras, and notebooks.

I ordered the 512MB Sandisk from Amazon yesterday when someone posted a link to it (along with a 10.00 off coupon code). It was 124.99 minus 10.00 for 114.99 total. I got an email that it was shipped this morning. (And I printed the 35.00 rebate coupon, so it will end up being 79.99).

Ok, I ordered the Viking 512mb CF card from Amazon. Got here yesterday, problem is, where is the rebate?

Nothing in the box, nothing in my account on Amazon.com... nothing on Viking's website. nowhere.

Am I going to have to call Amazon and complain or what?

I looked at that deal (Viking on Amazon) and debated buying it but decided I needed an SD card instead (have a 128 CF already). There was a link to a rebate coupon pdf you had to print out. Lemmee look around a sec.... hey for once I can help instead of posting a complaint or question
