I am having a hard time understanding what a person can do when your PPC is connected via guest mode.

It appears that not much can be done when it is connected in this mode, while a full partner ship allows you to do everything.

Help me understand guest mode......

Guest mode allows you to copy files to and from your device. No data will be sync'ed in this mode. So your inbox, calendar, contacts, my documents, etc... will not be sync'ed.

You can also install apps in most cases...

Also when connected in "Guest" you can use the Internet Pass Thru function of ActiveSync. I frequently use this on my parent's computer when I am visiting so that I can check email and such without syncing any data to their desktop.

And in "Guest" you can install programs which are located on the desktop. And you can "Explore" the contents of the entire Pocket PC by clicking the Explore button in the ActiveSync windows.

Truly lots of things can be done while in a Guest Partnership mode.

Thanks for all the replies.

I really hope that the next Activesync release or maybe 4.0 will allow full partnerships with any number of computers. Or maybe allow a choice of connections.
