View Full Version : Vaja Universal case...fits Dell Axim?

I was just checking out the Vaja site, and noticed that they have a new line of "Universal PDA Pouches", in both "Large" and "Small" sizes. The large size has a picture of three PDAs, and unless I'm mistaken, the Axim is one of them (the one on the left). While these cases don't have cut-outs for the screen (meaning that you'll have to take them out to use them), they appear to be well made, and include lots of storage options - credit cards, 2 SD cards, and a CF card.

For those of us with Socket WLAN cards, it looks like this case can accomodate that card in the CF slot, and still allow the flap to close over it. Very handy!

Personally, I think I'll wait for the custom-made Dell case with the screen cut-out, but this would probably work for a lot of people! Here's the link, if you're interested:

Looks like the large case JUST fits Dell. The width may be a bit tight. The case says 3 1/4" and the Dell measures exactly 3 1/4". Like I said, may be tight. This case is pretty much every thing I was looking for, pouch design, snap closure (I wanted magnetic) not velcro, SD and CF holders, and a nice belt clip. But I'll be darn'd if I'm paying close to $65 for a case. I'd pay $40, but not $65. I have a Vaja case for my Casio EM500, and I love it, but I've come to find no case is worth that much.

The next best pocket style case I've seen is the Copilot-20 case at Ebcases. See it at:

http://www.ebcases.com/Detail.bok?&no=3

It does not have any SD or CF holders and it has velcro on the flap, but it just costs $30. I'll wait another month and see if anything new pops up for the Axim, but it looks like I'll be going with the Copilot-20.

Any other people know of any nice pouch style cases that a Dell will fit in :?:

Have you checked out the Sena case? Looks pretty nice, cool color combinations, has a bunch of pockets, uses a snap instead of velcro, and it's under $40 (at the moment):

It looks like the only thing it's missing is a hole for the microphone.

Yes, but its not a pouch style. When I use my PDA I like it to be in its birthday suit :P

I want the case to stay on my hip and just pull out the PDA. The slip style cases make this kinda hard...

I've seen both of them. The InfusionThreads on does not have a belt clip. You have to undo your belt to get it off. I would more than likely have gotten this case if it had one.

I've seen one of the Tuff-as-nuts cases and was not very impressed. It did have a belt clip, but the flip cover was held down by one small piece of velcro. The case I saw would open too easily just by brushing up against something. Plus it was a very plain, basic, ugly case, and they wanted $50 for it. For $10 more I'd go with the Vaja.

Thanks for the reply Sabesh !!!
