5455 - Trouble getting Pocket IE to work using Wi Fi

So I have my 5455 recognizing my WiFi connection, and am receiving a strong signal. However, when I try to access the Net using IE, it says Page Not Found. I looked in my Settings/Connections and selected all to use the Work profile. Within these profiles, I have the "This network connects to the Internet" box checked.

Anyone know why IE isn't working? Is there another setting that I need to change?

Is anything else working(like messenger)? IE should be able to connect with the settings that you described. If you haven't done so I would download VxUtil (http://www.cam.com/vxutil.htmlvxutil) and with this you can check you ip, and ping other addresses to make sure that you do have connectivity.

check your connection settings, I bet you will find it says your network card connects to "work" eith change it to "internet" or change the default work connection to "internet"

I bumped into the same problem, tho with me, it also extended to me not being able to get mail as well. You might want to check the wireless profile you created for the built in Wi-Fi adapter.

If you're using security in your 802.11b network, check to make sure that you've got the right level of encryption on the key (64 or 128). I had initially, and incorrectly noted 64k encryption. However, when I tried to switch it to 128k, I still couldn't get out via Pocket IE, tho I showed good signal, etc.

I deleted the profile and recreated it with the right encryption and haven't had a problem since.

<rant>Now, if I can only get the blood thing to sync consistently without showing up as a Guest all the damn time...</rant>

I had a similar experience. Out of the box, the iPaq 5455 wouldn't let me enter anything but an exactly 13 character key in 128-bit alpha mode. Kept getting "invalid key length". So I changed my wi-fi network password, and then it worked. Later, I inadvertantly did a complete reset, that seemed to fix the key-length issue. I emailed HP about this, but got back to usual automated reply which didn't even seem to address the problem.
