Here is what I would like to be able to display on my Today screen:

1. Appointments for the next few days. As it stands right now, if I have an appointment for 7:30 am on Friday, it will not display until Friday morning. I thought with my old Ipaq, I could adjust the Today settings to display the next 4-5 days of meetings.

2. I would like to list the active Tasks on the Today screen, not just the number of Tasks. I think I may need an add-in to do this, but I figured I would check first.

3. I would like the ability to display my favorite icons on my Today page for easy access. I tried to load a program called tdlaunch to accomplish this, but no luck. The extract/install process is not nearly as straight-forward as most programs I have loaded. Of course this is freeware, so I have no right to complain. Anyone who has loaded this (or a similar program) and is willing to post step-by-step instructions, I would appreciate it.

The problem with my PPC is that once you see how easily it handles the functions that you purchased it for, you get greedy and try to do everything. This is truly one great machine.

Thanx in advance for any help/suggestions.

get tAgenda for the task/calendar thing....um....link:

http://www001.upp.so-net.ne.jp/kohgo/index_en.html

and as for tdLaunch, you will have to copy the .cab file to your device (somewhere you can find it) then using file explorer (on your device), locate, run it and it installs itself. then you can access the settings for it under start\settings\Today\(Items Tab) then highlight tdLaunch in that list (make sure its checkmarked too) then hit options.... from there you just have to add new icons for all the programs you want it to display. a tip for finding some of the programs/icons: browse for \Windows\Start Menu\Programs that makes it easier than tracking the progs. down in each directory...

now you can be like me, with way too much crap on your today screen!

yay!

I'm a big fan of tAgenda myself, as far as I know it is the only today plugin that will merge tasks and calendar items. Check into Scott Seligman's Launher if you found tdlaunch too complicated. It is also freeware.

For #1, I'd recommend the freeware app named Calendar+ Today Screen Plugin. It allows you to customize how your calendar is displayed on the today screen exactly as you described. You can get it at:

Thanx to all for the help. One last stupid question, how do I know which version of the .CAB file to use? The instructions say it should be based on my CPU. I have the Axim X5 and as far as I can tell, I have a PXA250 400MHz B2 CPU. Not real sure what any of that means, or how it relates to either .sh3, .arm, or .mips.

Thanx again.

For tasks, I use TaskPlus (http://gkokot.free.fr/ipaqp02a.htm), which displays your actual tasks and allows you to create and complete tasks from your Today screen.

For launching programs, I use Launcher (http://gkokot.free.fr/ipaqp02a.htm). Basically, once you've installed it, you just move shortcuts into the "Launcher" folder on your device, and they'll show up on your Today screen. Enjoy.
