View Full Version : Pocket Outlook Calendar Week View Options??

I'm used to my palm pilot that allowed me to see a "week at a glance" style of calendar view. As far as I can surmize, the Pocket Outlook will only let me see a DAY or if I select a WEEK it wants to give it as a bar graph style calendar, not the typical M-F appointments listing.

If there is an option I'm missing, or an add-on you recommend, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

I've been wondering about such programs, precisely because I find the week view so useless. My big fear is that adding another agenda type program will cause problems with synching the calendar, or worse, corrupting it. Has anyone had these problems or am I just paranoid?

doesn't putting all these programs on to tweak ppc bog it's memory down? i mean, it seems like there's no real way to get rid of the other programs and it's just a shame you have to use memory to put programs on that have features ppc should have anyway :?

firstly, no, it does not mess up any synching or anything like that.. any add-on PIM (Personal Information Manager) just coincides with the existing calender and contacts and tasks programs that already exist on Pocket PC OSs.. and it doesn't take too much memory or even bog down the PPC.. and as to the comment that was made about having to put programs and add functionality that should already exist, lets just hope PPC 2003 will have some of these features!

For a quick and cheap overview I'd recomend tAgenda (http://www001.upp.so-net.ne.jp/kohgo/index_en.html) a today screen plugin. It gives you a view of the next 'n' (configerable) lines of appointments and, optionally, tasks.

I'd have bought it but it's free :D

To be more specific, Pocket Informant (and apparently Agenda Fusion) share the same databases that Calendar, Tasks and Contacts use.

However, there are some third-party PIMs that don't use the same databases (for example, Pocket On-Schedule (http://www.pocketnow.com/cgi-bin/directory/content.cgi?db=reviews&id=219)), although it will synchronize with Outlook (with their own sync tool, I think).

If you would like something more scaled down and simple you can use WIS Agenda (http://store.pocketgear.com/wisagenda.html)

dcharles18,

Great link. This looks precisely like what I have been searching for. Was just wondering if it works on the Axim since it is not one of the units listed on the website.

Thanx,

It's obviously an old product. Look at the devices they claim to support:

HP 54x, CASIO E-115, COMPAQ iPaq H3600

Those are all older Pocket PC 2000 devices, and the Dell wasn't even thought of when the program was written.

Try it and see if it works. I doubt you'll have to hard reset if it doesn't. :-)

Works fine on my 3955 iPAQ.

An alternative might be Calendar + (Plus) - Not bulky / slow and straight-forward to use - simply adds as many days forward viewing to your today page as you should like... (Limit 14 I think)
