AIM for PPC

Does anyone have any idea why AOL charges for AIM software for PPC when the equivalent software is free for every other platform (or at least every other platform I've had occasion to download it to)?

The free download is still working, but who knows when they will plug up this hole as well...

Note: It is from the UK download site. The size is the same as the old US version, so I would imagine it is the same...
