Please take into consideration built in WIFI, Transflective display, ROM, form factor (+ anything you can think of)...

It is interesting to find out if the extra ROM and Transflective display of the Axim overcomes the built in WIFI of the e740.

I like that comparison, I think its a tough choice. Keep in mind that I'm biased because I just ordered a Dell 400.

Dell Pros:
Price : Dell $235 to $300 after rebate & Toshiba $25 to $450 after rebate
Better screen (from what I hear)
Better battery: Toshiba 1000mAh & Dell 1440 mAh
More ROM: 64MB Dell & 40MB Toshiba

Toshiba Pros:
WiFi: Dell None!
Can use CF and SD when using Wifi!

Like I said not an easy choice. Here's two reviews I found for the Toshiba:

Personally I like the Dell. I can always buy a wifi card for $40 or $50.

The advantages of the e740 are size and WiFi.

The Axim can easily remedy the WiFi problem with a card for about $50. The size is a bit larger, but should definitely be tolerable. Then again, you save money on the Axim, get a nice transflective display, and awesome battery life, and more ROM.

Having used both, I chose the Axim because it was faster, the screen was better, the battery lasted MUCH longer, and it was more stable.

I can't stand at less than 30' of the screen of the 740!
But the screen of the Axim is not too bad.
(That the opinion of a Cassiopeia E-115 owner)

...it was more stable.

I have a question... since the Pocket PC OS has been called "unstable" by Palm advocates and even our own kind, does the hardware itself affect stability? Does the fact that the Toshiba has Wi-Fi decrease the stability of the OS?

Toshiba: 6.3 oz with dimensions of 0.60 X 4.9 X 3.10
Dell: 6.9 oz with dimensions of 0.71 X 5.04 X 3.21

Plus keep in mind that the Toshiba is more square, so it looks bigger than it's dimensions show.
