I'm a recent convert from Palm to Pocket PC after my Handspring crashed after 3 years of use. Here's my question: I had alot of random things on my Handspring that I cannot find for my iPAQ. Examples are NFL and MLB schedules. I've found many good download sites but nothing that compares to the type of stuff I was downloading for the Handspring. Does anyone have any examples of where to look which may have obscure stuff like this? P.S. I used to use Palmgear.com ALOT and am looking for an equivalent. Thanks!

All you need to do is find the schedules that can be added to Outlook. Once there, they sync to Pocket Outlook...

Are you also looking for places to buy software?

Hey, I know how you are feeling, and after about a month with my Dell, I still haven't found anything like palmgear. Here are some suggestions though:

Freeware PPC (http://www.freewareppc.com)

Pocket PC City (http://pocketpccity.com)

Hope that helps.

One place you can check out is Mazingo (http://www.mazingo.com). It's a clipping service, where (for free) you can subscribe to different clippings. Some of them include sports schedules.

If it confuses you, there are two versions of Mazingo - one is a premium service for pay, which includes video and such. The free version is the text-based one.

A two-minute Google search turned up the following NFL Playoff schedules (http://www.calendar-updates.com/timezones/zone07/nfl.htm) (for the Pacific time zone). They also have other calendar updates; visit their home page (http://www.calendar-updates.com/) for details.

I'll take places to buy stuff software as well but prefer them to be free. Thanks for the hint on the Outlook ones. I'll definately try those as well!

For some reason the Mazingo site is in Korean. what's up with that?I'm a recent convert from Palm to Pocket PC after my Handspring crashed after 3 years of use. Here's my question: I had alot of random things on my Handspring that I cannot find for my iPAQ. spursdude accidentally linked to www.mazingo.com. You want www.mazingo.net.

BTW, if you're looking to buy, the two best places IMHO are Handango (www.handango.com) and PocketGear (www.pocketgear.com).

LOL my bad.....I screwed up the URL. It's Mazingo.net (http://www.mazingo.net), not Mazingo.com...

Jinx! ;)

Do people still say that, or are we old now? At my school it was usually "Jinx! Buy me a coke."

I certainly don't know what that means... was that an east coast thing?

The two sites Janak mentioned are the ones you should visit if you want to see the most complete selection: Handango (http://www.handango.com) and PocketGear (http://www.pocketgear.com). Most all reputable developers (and non-reputable ones) will post their software in at least one of these two sites (but usually both). I believe Handango is slightly larger and more well-known.

Don't think so. I'm a midwesterner. Late 80's / early 90s thing I think. When two people say things at the same time, the first to say "jinx" wins. Wins what? I don't know. At least at my school the prize was explicitly a coke, although I don't know of any actual transactions that followed.

Hmmm... I was in high school (before 90s) and college (after 90s)... never heard that one... not a west coast thing I guess...

I'm from the west coast originally (California). I have heard of the jinx game. Still play it with my wife sometimes. Never get anything for it though. :D

It's definitely something that was from our high-school days, but in NY, we never won a Coke  In our "version", the Jinx-ee (i.e., the one who didn't yell "Jinx!") wasn't "allowed to speak" until the Jinx-er said their first name. Personally, I love the Coke version.

Anyway, I think it's rare now. I accidentally started it up amongst my officemates again. Very annoying if I'm not paying attention.

Ya, 17 and still in high school here (not much longer!), and the jinx thing was around when I was in elementary school.

Oh, and why was I quoted?
