I'm finally getting my Axim on Feb 4 and e-baying my Palm 505 on the 5th. I was wondering if quicken had a version that ran on Pocket PC? I know MS money does right?

Congratulations on your Dell purchase (you're gonna love it!) :) .

I use MSMoney on both desktop and Pocket PC for now, but I know that there is a 3rd party application that will let you use & synch Quicken data on your PDA called Spb Quick.

Go to: http://www.softspb.com/products/quick/index.html to see it or download a trial. I personally have not used it, but I'm sure some other folks here have.

It's been "coming soon" for almost two years now...Spb Quick is here today.

You might try PoQuick:

http://www.mastersoftmobilesolutions.com/

It looks like a good program based on the reviews.

I guess the name is a takeoff on PocketQuicken, but my hangup is using a program named "po' quick" to manage my finances. I seem to be doing a great job of getting po' quick without a program helping me! "po' slow" would be a better name, but then that reminds me of a street sign I see in some neighborhoods: SLOW DEAF CHILD IN AREA. Poor kid not only is deaf, but "slow," too!

Maybe I should give it a try, but I'm afraid it'll just remind me how much greater the outflow is than the income -- just more often than the desktop version alone. :(

BTW, I love Spb's full-screen keyboard. Almost ready to buy it, but my fingers are to big for the keys and I keep mis-typing. Any tips on typing more accurately with that?

I'm not big on conspiracy theories, but has anyone else wondered that the "delays" that Landware has experienced in getting PocketQuicken ported to the PocketPC might be due to an "agreement" with Microsoft or a licensing problem, etc. that actually prevents Landware from producing a Pocket PC version of the software. I mean, they've been "working" on it for over 2 years.

Just 2cents worth...

For me the biggest issue is full Quicken synchronization. I don't care about being able to import/export CSV files...I want two-way synchronization.

The only product that comes close is SpbQuick. It will sync back and forth through Activesync. However, it is not FULL 2-way sync in that you cannot edit transactions in SpbQuick once they are sync'd. An example....I have an $80 ATM Cash Withdrawl in Quicken...every time I spend cash, I want to go into the split and add the transaction & Category. However, I can only edit the splits on NEW transactions entered in SpbQuick, and once the transaction is sync'd w/ the desktop, you can no longer edit it.

The other issue is SpbQuick does not have all of the features that some other products (such as PoQuick). PoQuick is quite feature-rich, but they have decided to go the rout of developing & selling their own PoQuick desktop software instead of integrating w/ desktop Quicken. That decision sent me straight back to SpbQuick.

Anyway, someone please correct me if I'm wrong about the synchronization options as I've laid them out.

Cheers
Rob
