It depends on what you are using your pocket pc for. Browse through www.pocketgear.com and www.handango.com and find the software that you like. Don't forget the free software that is inculded on the Axim CD.

I completely agree.....it's a personal choice. However, if there were one piece of software I would recommend, it would be PocketMVP (available at http://www.pocketmvp.com). It's an audio/video player that provides an incredible 30fps for video. I grabbed the Star Wars: Episode II trailer and ran it on PocketMVP without a single stutter....it's like watching TV!

You might also want to browse for PocketPC software at http://www.cnet.com....they have quite a bit available out there.

Good luck!

Ah, so you did get the Axim in the end. :D

PPCSG.com, freewareppc.com, handango.com, download.com are my suggestions. As a teen also, I realize you may be on a tight budget, so you can find a lot of freeware at these sites.

I think I would have to recommend some third party file explorer. The built in one is about the only thing on the device that I think is too funtionally limited. The suite of software that comes with it is quite good IMHO. Not all perfect, or meets everyones needs, but pretty functional. The Dell even comes with a usable task switcher (which would be my other recommendation, BTW, if it didn't have one) I personally like Resco's File Explorer.
