I haven't heard of one, so I did a few quick Google searches, but still didn't find any. If there is one, how would you connect a cable to it? It would probably have a very small connector or a top that flared quite a bit.

Thanks Steve,

I just wondering since I am in the process of deciding which my next device should be. I'd like to be able to connect a modem but I like the slimness of my Aero 1550... :?

As long as you're not using an iPaq 1910, why don't you just use a serial cable to an external modem? Not as convenient, obviously, but it'll work if you only need to use it sporadically.

You'll slowly see modems be less prevalent, of course, as broadband becomes more pervasive.

Are you planning on getting rid of your 1550? It, of course, has a CF slot.

SD I/O devices have been SLOW in coming out. At this time the only SD I/O devices I know of are the Toshiba BT device, the camera that was posted here yesterday or the day before, and the combo memory/WiFi unit that SanDisk will have by midyear.

Connecting through the serial port to a cell phone would likely be considerably slower than a SD modem which likely would be 56k

Well... then there's also an IR modem originally made by Psion but often resold now by a number of resellers including HP. The IR modem itself is an analog wall jack modem, but the connection from the PPC to the modem is done (obviously) over IR.

That wasn't my suggestion, I was talking about an external landline modem...

Forgive my ignorance... Is it not possible to connect a 1910 to a modem with a serial cable?

My understanding is that it is not possible because the 1910 does not support serial connections.
