OK - iPAQ 3660 with Pocket PC 2002 and WMP8, build 0096. I don't seem to be able to get a newer version because this is a 16MB iPAQ ...

Anyway, created some folders on my 128MB storage card. Used WMP 9 on the laptop to transfer a couple of albums over to the Pocket PC.

First problem - doesn't WMP create play lists for transfers? I might just as well have copied the files over myself for all the good it did using WMP :-(

Choose Select and you are initially presented with "Local Content" - all of the media that WMP could find. If you start deleting stuff from that list, WMP creates a fresh playlist - good start.

So then choose Organise Playlists and you get a list of the playlists. Select a playlist and click on the OK button in the top right hand corner of the screen and ...

Second problem - the display changes to indicate that it is trying to show the playlist, but the hourglass stays on FOREVER! The only way out seems to be the reset the iPAQ.

So:

a) are there any decent ways of managing WMP playlists?
b) why is WMP hourglassing? Does anybody else get this or do I need to re-install WMP?

Thanks.

Go to Handango and download an app called CEPlaylist. It's the absolute BEST thing you can do for yourself if you use WMP. There's a trial version, so check it out, but seriously, it took me about 10 seconds of trial time to decide I wanted to buy it.
