as i'm trying to perform some maintenance on my pocket pc, i was just wondering if anybody knew of a method to get programs to install into a folder, ie "program files" on my storage card, instead of ALL of them being in the root folder.

Get cabinstal http://www.geocities.com/s_k_s_k_s_kru/util.html
it's free and you can install most programs to any folder
If a program does not come as cab file to install but as setup.exe you may first unzip the setup to get the cab file or run the setup and look in the temp folder on your desktop to find the cab file.

That's cool, and they have some other interesting software, too.

However, it's too bad that Microsoft got rid of the capability to install to any directory. When I used my Sharp Mobilon Handheld PC, if I said that I didn't want to install to the default location, it would prompt me for a directory to install to.
