Should I buy a e740 ???

I'm thinking about buying the e740 myself, and drop my iPAQ 3850.

I use WLAN and GPRS (through my Audiovox RTM-8000 CF-card)

I think the iPAQ 5450 is too expencive, but want the buildt in WLAN, so I don't have to run around with to CF-cards...

Anybody have any thoughts about that?

Go for it. The e740 is great. I bought it for the same reasons as you, I wanted wifi without much bulk. The e740 is very slim and light plus 2 card slots.

Okey, how's the batterylife when WLAN is turned OFF?

And do you have any "gameing experience" on it? I play a lot of games, how's the D-pad? Is it similar to the e310 (wich I love)

I have had mine for a few months now and I love it. For the price, you can't beat it with a stick. Sure the IPAQ's are cool and all, but they are way too expensive for what they do.

I highly recommend the E740. I am also waiting for the E750 to come out. :D

The battery life is shortend when the WLAN is on. You can get a couple of hours off of it but you couldn't use it all day without charging.

The D-pad is the same. The front of the e310 is almost identical to the e740, same button setup.

Really? I actually hate my D-pad (on my e310). Sometimes when I press left it goes down and when I press right it sometimes goes up(and so on).

Do I have a broken one??

Nah, you just need practise and use a soft touch :-)

It's just like the D-pad on the LOOX. Beautiful handling, but a little to easy to press it down...

I just ordered my e740 but haven't got it yet. I found it for $439(no tax and free shipping) at Harmony Computers web site then the $100 rebate on top of that. Real hard to say no to a e740 for $339!
