Does anyone know of a developer community (other than the official MS newsgroups) which caters to eVC++ developers? I am running into all manner of oddness in developing an ActiveSync provider (such as interface functions that don't seem to have any effect, despite what the docs say) and would like to find some folks willing to share a little info.

DevBuzz caters mainly to eVB and beyond that I've found mainly sites geared towards UI development and newbie stuff, nothing as ugly and messy as ActiveSync development.

Any suggestions?

Boy, ActiveSync development can be a b*tch. You're sorta on your own there buddy, but you can probably scour groups.google.com for old code snippets. Mostly it's just endless trial and error. Maybe if you can get something working eventually, put your code up on a website or article for future ActiveSync coders ;)

I guess you've seen the topic on MSDN about writing ActiveSync providers:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/wceactsy/htm/ceconunderstandingserviceproviders.asp

I haven't tried it myself but it talks about a sample C++ app in the Win CE SDK which might help.

I think that URL is incorrect. You probably meant the Pocket PC Developer Network (http://www.pocketpcdn.com).

I suggest always checking your URLs before posting them. Instead of hitting Submit, hit Preview, then ensure the URL works. If it does, hit Submit; otherwise fix the URL.
