if a program says to copy a file to your pda's root, what folder is the "root"????

It probably means do not copy to a storage card. When it asks do you want to install this program to it's default dir, say yes.

If you accidently say no, either restart the install process or select main memory.

no it says to copy a specific file to the root, i'm just wondering where to put it?
"Just copy the rer.dat file into your PDA's root directory!"

I'd suggest following the path of (from desktop): My computer: Mobile Device: My Device, and dumping it there. Failing that, go from My Device to Windows.
