View Full Version : Pocket MSN Messenger and a Proxy Server -- Will it work?

Hi all -- I'm a T-Mobile Pocket PC user who recently discovered the phone can be configured through a T-Mobile proxy to greatly increase connection reliability and speed.

Works great with pIE but Messenger no longer connects :(

I think it might be the port setting of the proxy 8080.

Does anyone what port Messenger uses?

Personally, when I run into issues with MSN Messenger hiccupping on the proxy I use the Messenger client built into Microsoft Portrait (http://research.microsoft.com/~jiangli/portrait/). It's not as pretty or full-featured, but it allows you to manually specifiy the proxy settings.
