Why can I only wifi-sync as a guess?

Why is it that when I sync my Ipaq using wifi I only get logged on as a guest on my PC? I have been able to sync normally through wifi in the past but most of the time I get this error.

Does anyone been able to figure out what causes this or is this on more bug.

ps. I have a partnership an all setup with my PC.

I've always found that ActiveSync is flaky - whether Serial, USB, Bluetooth or 802.11b.

It's funny... up to yesterday I never had a problem synching my Ipaq via WiFi...

Then all of a sudden... I couldn't get it to work... :evil: My device would say it was connecting, but on my PC it would say there was a "guest" logged in. :twisted: (Side note: Even as a "guest" my PC wasn't able to browse or explore the PPC - which makes me think that somehow it's link wasn't working right anyway.)

Well, here's what I did that got me through the nightmare:

1. Soft Reset on Ipaq
2. Manually Stopping "wcescomm.exe" in task manager
3. Restarting Ipaq - verifying WiFi link (by using IE to visit a website)
4. Manually starting "Microsoft ActiveSync" on PC
5. Initiating ActiveSync on PPC

It worked... although I'm at a loss to explain why. :roll:

Hmmmmm.... how I get frequent "Attention required" when WiFi syncing. Never used to happen. :?
