I was wondering if anyone knows of any 3rd party browers that is either freeware or reasonable priced.? PIE is alright but not great.

I found one called Thunderhawk http://www.bitstream.com/wireless/client_index.html
Has anyone used this service? I would some feedback on it before spending $$$. They charge an anual fee of $49.99 to use thier browsers :mad:

Actually, a whole slew of new browsers and add-ons just came out recently.

You've already found ThunderHawk, which btw, I use. The landscape orientation works for me. I like seeing the actual web pages, as most sites' Mobile Page is designed for the anemic PIE, and as a result are just not very interesting. They charge the $50/year because they run the pages through their servers and strip out all the extraneous data before tunneling it to you. This costs a pretty penny.

NetFront just came out, as well. This one is Portrait-oriented, just like PIE. It allows full-screen and animations, also. It's kind of cool to see animations in your PPC browser. They are also charging in the $50 range, I believe. Not sure if they also use a server-stripping scheme or not.

SPB also just released Pocket Plus, which is an add-on to PIE. It allows multiple screens and full-screen. This one is only $20 or so. You also get a true "close" command and a Today screen add-in.

There has also been talk of a mobile version of the Opera browser being released soon. Again, it is supposed to have full-screen and multiple screen technology. I'm not sure how much it will be.

I'm sure there are many more, but these are the ones that have been released spomewhat recently. Do a search (top right) for the announcements on PPCThoughts and user reactions for the one(s) that interest you.

Actually, you covered the vast majority of them. :)

Other suggestions would be to --

Try Nyditot Virtual Display (http://www.nyditot.com/) with IE to gain higher resolutions;
Use MultiIE (http://www.zipworld.com.au/~peterept/), which is similar to Spb's Pocket Plus's IE bar functionality.

Personally, I prefer Thunderhawk the best, but it's the most expensive too. :(

Try NetFront browser, too lazy to get a link, but just search for it on Handago. Download the demo.

Can someone verify that nyditot's virtual screen software will work on the Axim X5? I don't want to find myself in the same situation I was when I tried JS Landscape 2, which crashed my machine, causing me to have to do a hard-reset. JS Landscape 3 did work, however, but I found this software quite slow, ie. made my Axim run slowly.
