Has anyone tried this modem with their Dell AXIM?
No answer from Pretec or the seller.

nope! but m using a $69 ambicom cf modem less $10 rebate (bestbuy)= $59 and works fine.. :)

Got a reply from someone in the newsgroups who said he has one and it works great..other than not making any connections sounds.
Price seems to be around $40 :)

I have this modem from my iPAQ, and just gave it a shot on my Axim...
It worked great! No problems snagging emails and surfing. Connection speed seems good. I do hate the lack of sound from it, but I can deal with that little issue.

I use the Targus modem in my iPaq and my son has one for his Axim. They do not have a speaker. While I am used to the sound of dialing on my computers, I figured that they might have done away with this feature in the CF form factor for space and power reasons.
Who knows maybe it was just dollars and cents. What ever the reason I have only come accross a couple of CF modems that advertise having a speaker.
