hi!

is it normal that windows media player on pocket pc 2002 does not play all mp3 files? there are some which do not play at all (the player simply skips them) and some of which only the first few seconds are played. this happens with both VBR and constant bitrate files. my PDA is an Asus MyPal A600.

if this behavior is normal, are there any good alternatives for mp3 playing? are there mp3 players that switch off the screnn and can be controlled solely through the hardware buttons of the PDA (so that it would be a fullfeatured replacement for an hadrware mp3 player)?

thnaks a lot for your help!

WMP does tend to be finicky about MP3 files. First, make sure High Bitrate Audio Content is on in the preferences page; that may be important for anything 160kbps or higher.

If you're still having problem, consider downloading PocketMVP (www.pocketmvp.com). It's less polished, but tends to be a better player.

WithMP3 (http://www.citsoft.net/product.asp?lang=ENG&menu=S) is another good choice, but it's commercial.

thanks a lot for your advice :)
PocketMVP is excellent because it allows mapping hardware buttons like WMP does. and it plays all files (at least till now all that i tried). thanks!
