Instant Messenger on PPC 2002?

Is there a program that does AIM on PPC 2002? AOL's info says that AIM for WinCE won't work on PPC 2002. Plus, I'd rather not have to pay $19.95 for a program if I don't have to. Are there any AIM clients out there right now?

The only one I'm aware of is from AOL. I'm also under the impression that that older version of AIM does work on PPC 2002. I'll see if I can confirm that, though.

UPDATE: Yes, I still had a copy of AIM v2.0 and it works just fine on my Pocket PC Phone Edition

Actually, the "older" version is the one and the same (i.e., AIM 2.0 for Pocket PC's) as the priced version. AOL just decided one day to slap a price tag on the piece of software! And yes, it works perfectly with PPC 2002. I have no idea why AOL is being so obtuse about this.

I managed to scrounge around and find my "free" copy. I don't know if I'm legally allowed to distribute it, though, anymore, but you might find it elsewhere on the Internet.

You can still download the "UK" version of AIM for free, and yes it is on the AOL server...Hidden, but available. Hurry before they figure this out and remove it as well... :wink:

I'm neither a heavy IM user nor an AOL user, so I can't tell you if it works, but take a look at JabbeCE http://www.movsoftware.com/jabberce/jabberce.htm It says it supports AIM (among other formats) and bypasses the AOL $ grub altogether.
