Thats great but... with the limited memory and battery on our pda's, surely ppl will stick with downloading stuff (mp3s, vids) on their desktops (and burning to cd) for now... so not much point really?

I wouldn't call a Loox with 1 gig storage space, directly connected to the backbone of the internet limited :) :) :)

Finally i can put my Loox to use when it is cradled

This was my take on it, by the time this is useful who knows what technology will exist. But, to each their own, if the developers enjoyed doing it then what the heck!

You mean you want Kazaa Lite (http://www.kazaalite.com/) for PPC? :)

Thanks! Didn't know this existed. You could have warned me about the pop-up ads though!

No, I couldn't have - I use Mozilla. :)

Irony is, I don't use KaZaA myself. Or any other P2P program. The quality (or lack thereof) of many of the rips annoy me too much, and I end up ripping all the music myself from my own CD's.

You should try using Kazaa Lite with the sig2dat feature. You can get signatures for known good burns from sites and then use it to make sure you download the proper file afterwards. It ensures you are getting the exact same file and as long as the signature DB is of high quality rips, you will always get high quality rips.

Thanks for the tip. I still like the "legalness" of ripping my music, but I'll keep it in mind. :)

ok, WHERE can I get the .nap files? (I guess a server list)

And what do I have to do to get it running?
User and Passwords? Where to get that and How to Log on?

I need some good instructions.

ok, ok... I opened the port in my router... DOH!
But here are the easy instructions:

QUICK START INSTRUCTIONS

1. Create a new connection
Provide the OpenNAP hostname, port, and the username/password to use
(Get a list of servers here. (http://www.zeropaid.com/napster/opennap/servers.php?getstats=1))

2. Choose ‘Register Nick’ from the tools menu to first register your username, or select 'Connect' from the Connections menu to connect if you are already registered.

3. After connecting, choose 'Search' from the Tools menu and perform a search.

4. Tap-and-Hold a file you wish to download or view and follow instructions

This file is no longer available (authors yanked it).

Anyone know a mirror?
