<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://handheldplanet.net/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=HHP&Affiliate=PocketPCThoughts' target='_blank'>http://handheldplanet.net/Merchant2...ocketPCThoughts</a><br /><br /></div>I received an email from Mitch Weight, the President of HandheldPlanet. He has a deal that Thoughts readers may wish to take him up on:<br /><br />"I’m starting a major sale that will run from now until 12/6/02. Your readers can use the coupon code PPCT.COM when they checkout to get $5 off anything they purchase. Additionally, they can use this <a href="http://www.handheldplanet.net/links/REBATE%20FORM.pdf">mail-in rebate form</a> to get a $10 rebate on any non-custom case purchased between now and 12/6/02. That’s a total of $15 off!"<br /><br />There's only 48 hours to take advantage of this offer, so if you've been waiting for a price break to get a new leather case for your Pocket PC, this is it - click the affiliate link above to place your order.<br /><br />I've been using their XDA case (pictured below) for my device, and I like it quite a bit. I got the version without the belt clip, which makes it easier to fit into my jacket pocket. The leather is smooth and well made. The only quirk I found is that for the first couple of weeks I was using it, every time I opened the case there were flecks of leather on the screen. They were easy enough to blow off, and the frequency of this occurrence went down after two weeks.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/handheldplanet-xdacase.jpg" /><br /><br />I'm a big fan of their products, and with a $15 discount, their XDA cases are a mere $20 - that's an awesome deal.

Tried ordering a case, but when I entered the coupon code, I was told it had expired. And the mail-in rebate says it is only good for orders placed between 12/2/02 and 12/5/02 (not 12/6/02). Also, your main link is confusing--it takes you to a log-in page for creating affiliate accounts. I ended up accidentally creating my own affiliate account! (Getting late out there? )

I was also wondering how much extra bulk the belt-clip adds. I couldn't find any pictures that gave me any indication of what the belt-clip looks like. I've never owned a case with a belt-clip, so I'm wondering how convenient and safe (or inconvenient and unsafe) that option might be.

Man sounds like a good deal except these cases don't close with a CF WiFi card inserted in the device. Does anyone know of a case that allows this??? I've been waiting to find a case I can actually use.

Well, coupon code and rebate (now until 12/7/02) are working now. Only thing slightly odd still is the link, but that's not such a big deal.

Anyone have any comments on the belt-clip option?

Actually, yes. I bought one of HandHeldPlanet's cases for my e740 in July. The belt clip nub on the case, which is plastic, sheared off in late September as part of normal use.

On the plus side, they exchanged it for a new case. And I learned a valuable lesson: look for metal posts on belt clip accessories.

I've since bought the EB case for the e740, which has a metal post and magnetic flap (I never liked the snap on the HHP case). I much prefer the EB case.

you can get $10 off using the coupon code: CUST02 also! I ordered last night, and nearly kicked myself seeing that I could have gotten $15 off, but turns out you cant use these two coupons together. So save $5 or save $10...thats a hard choice! Friend told me of $10 off, not sure where it was mentioned!

I had one of their cases with the metal post and that fell apart as well. I would be cautious, you get what you pay for. My experiences with Handheld planet have not been good.

I fixed the link - sorry about that. I used the wrong affiliate code as you saw... :-) I see Mitch has altered the rebate form as well - we weren't very well in sync.

Will any of their cases fit the Axim?

Not yet, but you can bet they're working on it, and when they have one ready, you'll hear about it on Thoughts. :D

I bought an EB case for my T-Mobile with a belt clip. I like it but haven't used it much because I can put it in my pocket, in most cases and am wearing a coat. I plan to use it more during the summer when I wear pants with a belt and want to show it off.

T-Mobile comes with a clip, but it's kind of cheesy so is the case as the magnets scratched up my unit and I had to send it in to exchange it. The belt clip spins around unless you have it attached to something.

I wouldn't be deterred because of the clip. It isn't as flat as it would be without it, but it doesn't stop you from putting it in a pocket.
