Did I miss something, or is HP going to ignore us now?

I was just thinking the same thing. Of course, I do not expect an update to come from Casio (the topic of this thread), but if I remember right, HP said they would support Jornada's for a couple of years after the merger. Frankly, I get more support from my underwear!

EUU3 for iPaq's came out weeks ago, but Jornada users are still out in the cold. Did HP fire all it's Jornada developers when it took the 'best from each team'?

This is the sort of thing that makes me lean towards getting a Dell instead of a 5450.

Just want to mention this to all the Jornada 56x users out there. If you are a little brave  , and you just cannot wait  , the standard EUU3 issued by Comaq also works for HP Jornada 56x.

http://www29.compaq.com/falco/sp_detail.asp?SoftwareVer=16579

After reading many posts about how it works for Jornada 56x at other forums (pocketpcpassion.com, pdaordie.com, etc.), I decided to try it on my Jornada 567. I couldn't find any ipaq specific files in the .cab anyway, so it seems like a generic MS update.

It's quite a large .cab file, so make sure you have plenty of spaces left. Be sure :!: to read the README.rtf included in the download for more details, but basically,
1. .cab has to be in memory; .cab in storage cards won't work
2. has to have at least 12MB free after copying the .cab file before applying
3. leave ROM storage area as free as possible

After a few minutes of update, it works like a charm. :D

Again, while it works for mine, it not necessary will work for yours. You have been warned.

I own a Casio E-200 and I downloaded both files
The PPCUP300.cab from Casio is not very different from SP22546.exe from HP/Compaq.

Compaq's exe file (self-extracting zip file) contains Euu3_eng.cab with 13,559,129 bytes

And Casio's cab file contains:
Euu021~1.002 with 13,559,129 bytes

It IS the very same file (I looked at binary code)

In Casio's file, there are 2 other files:
Rom_up~1.000
Setup_~1.999

Some Casio owners installed successfully the cabfile from HP
As did some HP Jornada 56x owners.
What did they miss? I do not know but I doubt it is very important.

Audiovox/Toshiba?

Hello?

Anyone out there?

My Maestro needs the tune up.

I feel so alone!!!

Why are all the download files missing from Toshiba's e570 support site?

Often what isn't there, speaks volumes.

The first EUU3 tat was released for the Cassiopeia E-200 was for the Japanese model, the E-2000... of course it was in Japanese so it wouldn't work for the E-200 english models. (Nov 13, 2002)

The EUU3 for the English model is already the second one out.

Are far as WMP 8.5, did MS implement automated playlist sorting yet? I want an alphabetized playlist!

I can confirm that the Compaq update worked like a charm on my 568. It says that the update will take about 2 minutes... it was more like 5 minutes... be patient.

I feel the exact same way you do! And yet, no, WMP 8.5 has no playlist improvements over WMP 8.0.

To jpaq: the EUU3 update released from HP for the iPAQ works fine on the Maestro/e570. It is the original update from Microsoft and contains no iPAQ-specific code, so you might as well use it instead of waiting for Audiovox (no telling when that could be). It's been confirmed to work by the users at Brighthand (www.brighthand.com).

Try CEPlaylist for better playlist management.

Try CEPlaylist for better playlist management.

I'll second that motion... give CEPlaylist a trial run and I guarantee you that you won't turn back. Even if MS ever decided to improve their playlist support, it couldn't come close to matching what CEPlaylist can do for you.
