I am looking for a way to record various lectures that I attend.

I have an Ipaq 3650 but have not been satisfied with recording capabilities using the built in microphone.

I have pondered purchasing a Sony MiniDisc recorder but I am hoping to avoid paying close to $400 for the unit which does all that I want.

Is there an iPAQ sleeve that allows for an enternal mic to be added?

Do any of the PocketPC units available from any manufacturer have a jack for an external mic?

Any other suggestions?

Don't know about the external mic thing. But you should look at this product http://www.geocities.com/zavorine/wince/mp3.htm. It looks like it records notes as MP3 instead of WAV, and can take much less space.

i've not used this, so I cannot tell you how it works, but it sounds interesting.
