Apparently there's already a unit with Pocket PC 2003. ;)

But seriously - do we actually know anything about Pocket PC 2003? There have been hints as to it requiring more than 32 megs of ROM, given that high-end devices are coming out with more than that.

Most of what I've read consists of wish-lists from users, which unfortunately, almost never have anything to do with the actual product.

Is it basically going to be a variant of CE.Net (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/embedded/ce.net/default.asp)?

Is it going to actually come out in 2003, and do we know even what quarter?

Will it allow you to run Pocket PC 2002 and 2000 software?

I guess I'm trying to find out if everything is just speculation, or if there are some somewhat-likely hints from reliable sources.

Almost definitely not, actually. There are millions of those Epinions summaries, and I've seen a fair number of inaccuracies. Worse are similarly-named products (like the Motorola v60i GSM vs. Motorola v60i CDMA) and that they're missing quite a few products. That's the fundamental challenge that any consumer site faces -- the consumer market is waay too large to be utterly comprehensive. That's why we're Pocket PC thoughts here - makes it tangible :)

kati - I would be very surprised if it's not built on top of CE .Net. That is, if it's going to be PPC2003 as opposed to PPC2004...
