<a href="http://infosync.no/news/2002/n/2608.html">http://infosync.no/news/2002/n/2608.html</a><br /><br />infoSync has some information on the new MiTAC devices. What markets are these sold in exactly? I get the sense that they're only sold in smaller Asian markets - I wonder if they have plans to enter the North American or European markets?<br /><br />"MiTAC's new Mio338 Pocket PC, a product in its DigiWalker series, offers an Intel XScale PXA250 processor, a 3.5" 16-bit TFT transflective display, 32 MB of RAM and an SD/MMC Card expansion slot with SDIO support. MiTAC did not list at what speeds the XScale processor would operate, but end users are regardless likely to notice little performance improvement over 206 MHz ARM processors as the Pocket PC 2002 platform used by the device - along with most Pocket PC applications - do not make use of the full capabilities of XScale processors."

Nice looking device... sleek!

Did they do a hybrid of HP Jornada (faceplate), Palm i705 (IR, leds) and CLIE or Cassiopeia (jog dial or rocker)?

The pink faceplate, they should put LED and make it Blinking Bright PINK. LOL

if they want to get loud, might as well make it really loud, I bet it will sell too.

Too bad really, I like the look of it alot (although in all fairness the processor would keep me from buying it even if it was available)

Yeah, it's sold in Taiwan, and probably Hong Kong and other south Asian countries. I've also heard it's available in mainland China, but cannot confirm.

Can confirm that the MiTAC is available in Hong Kong. Not sure if that also goes for this particular model, but I would be surprised if it doesn't appear soon enough.

I thought it kinda looked like the Jornada 56X series, except for the color.
Another sub-PPC (no CF-slot) ... :x
