I just recieved some info from a contact of mine at HP, he said "The products will not be out until December....I'll get you the information as soon as it is available." Products being the new iPAQ's.

I thought someone might want to know.

Anyone know if we are going to see the 5000's or only the 1900's in December/whenever the next round of releases is supposed to be?

I will tell you this Hp always slips out info before they want you to know it, I work at the local Office Depot, and we got a new iPAQ filp chart that is for the Christmas season, it does not mention the new models, but the books are easily updatable, and they did happen to slip a photo of what has been called the 5000 series. Now remember, Hp has not anounced model numbers, though in may I found some info that listed them on the Hp site. (careful diging). The concept of a thin Ipaq came from HP though they have not called it anything.

The Model numbers are:
compaq iPAQ pocket PC h5110
compaq iPAQ pocket PC h5115
compaq iPAQ pocket PC h5130
compaq iPAQ pocket PC h5135
compaq iPAQ pocket PC h5450
compaq iPAQ pocket PC h5455
compaq iPAQ pocket PC w1000

Now if you look at it, and you know anything about hp and compaq they very often have two model numbers one for Retail, one for non-retail. My guess is that the 5110 and 5115 are the same, the 5130 and the 5135 are the same. The 5450 and the 5455 are the same. That would leave the w1000 to be left over. Now I have seen other model numbers for the so called thin IPAQ 2000, 1900, 2200 are some of them. Unless Hp has changed things (also would not be suprising) then I guess the series will be the 1000 series. I am only guessing though.

There are several photos that are around the web of three new models of Ipaq that would match up with the three 5000 series. The photo of the new Ipaq that is in the filp chart that HP sent to Office Depot is what has been called the 5000 model, not the thinner of the IPAQs. It is also not one of the ones that will be a phone.

But again there is very little confirmed details on these new models. I would guess that we will hear more within the next few weeks.

Ok I just did some more looking it looks like the iPAQ w1000 is not a Pocket Pc but a BlackBarry. Guess we dont know much about the thin iPAQ after all.

The Model numbers are:
compaq iPAQ pocket PC h5110
compaq iPAQ pocket PC h5115
compaq iPAQ pocket PC h5130
compaq iPAQ pocket PC h5135
compaq iPAQ pocket PC h5450
compaq iPAQ pocket PC h5455
compaq iPAQ pocket PC w1000

Wow...I wish HP would have less confusing model names. I'm so confused... :)

it is the standard HP way, it is like HP code. :D

But it is not hard to get, it is always a letter, then a string of four numbers.
