I just spotted this on Howard Forums, and confirmed it on the T-Mobile site. I take back all I said about them targeting the midrange customer. The upper end rate here is incredible.

Effective Oct. 29, the $39.99 NW Get More 1000 Promotional rate plan will be offered in all sub-markets beyond the currently launched California and Nevada markets & New York City.
Effective Oct. 29, , T-Mobile is launching the $99.99 NW Get More 5000 Promotional rate plan in all sub-markets nationwide.
Effective Oct. 30, all new activations will Get More with an included bucket of 300 minutes (up from 250 minutes) on the $29.99 Talk & Text rate plans. This is not a promotional rate plan and existing customers can migrate to this rate plan without signing a new contract.
Rate Plan Summary

Rate Plan Whenever Minutes Weekend Bucket Overage

Restrictions on NW Get More 1000 and NW Get More 5000 Promotional Plans

Both the NW Get More 1000 and NW Get More 5000 are Promotional rate plans and do not include a bucket for Weekends and Mobile-to-Mobile. In addition, the following features may not be added:

Unlimited Nights
Mobile to Mobile
Weekends

I confirmed that you can select these plans with the PocketPC Phone. Others on the Howard forum confirmed that changed plans with T-Mobile does NOT extend your term... Verizon did that to me for about 6 years! They also said these plans would be in effect as long as you were a customer... so you don't get dumped.

I went over my 600 minute plan buy nearly $100 the first month out (that's about 3 hours over), so this is a no brainer! I also have been playing with a 20MB GPRS plan for the last few days and it is not that impressive to me. I don't see that big of a difference to my dialed service. 5000 nationwide minutes!

I switched to this plan with no problems and promptly canceled my office land line... net zero! Cool.

This is amazing news. I've been too busy as of late to keep up with the Howard forums, but it seems like I have to watch more closely :D
