Trouble with Yahoo Messenger on my iPAQ3975

I connect my iPAQ 3975 to the internet via BT on my Sony T68i using AT&T Wireless and everything is great. I downloaded and installed Yahoo Messenger from this link http://messenger.yahoo.com/messenger/ce/downloads_ce_msgr.html
and installed. All seems fine except Messenger will not connect. The software even finds my friends list.

Has anyone been successful with Yahoo Messenger under this configuration?

btw, My iPAQ came with MSN Messenger already installed and that works great so I don't believe that this is a firewall problem.

From what I recall, Yahoo killed the portal that pocket yahoo messenger used. I used to use it then it stopped working. If you do a search you will probably find other posts related to it.

I too have tried connecting to Yahoo Messenger and had the same exact problem. It gets my friend's list but is unable to connect. I have a Casio EM-500 and T68i and connect thru AT&T Wireless.
If the PocketPC portal has been removed then why is Yahoo still offering the donwload?
