wmp remember settings

is there any way to get windows media player to remember settings each time you open it? (ie shuffle and repeat) it's getting annoying to have to enable it every time i need it.

also, has anybody noticed that if you pause a song in WMP, then wait for over 15 seconds, it starts at the beginning of the song? any fixes?

Both are irritating bugs - no fix, no solution. Unknown if this is fixed in 8.5.
