How to keep track of the software and current configuration

I am sure that I am not the only one to be thinking of this.
Everytime I do a full back up, or install new software I update an excel sheet with the software i have just put on...
Any software that does this? sort of having a change management control of your pocket pc...

Well, you can a try many of the database programs that are easy to program and use.

My personal preference is the Handbase which is compatible also with Palm OS.
