Problems with Active Sync Backup / Restore [Archive]

I have a F/S Loox with about 32Mb of data on it.

I did a backup through Active Sync and it took 20 minutes.

After a failed registry hack I did a restore and it took just over 6 hours.

Has anyone else had any experience of Active Sync Backups - surely this can't be right.....

Is that over serial or USB? I've had to do restores over serial, and that sounds like it might be the right ballpark. Over USB, I've had better experience -- more on the order of 30 minutes for 12 MB of data.

Of course, backup/restore to CF is much, much faster. If you have the capability of doing this, I highly recommend it.

Ouch. I've never seen USB ActiveSync that slow before...
