Hi Guys,
:D
I have a problem with my 128Mb SD card with my iPaq 3870, all of a sudden it refuses to allow me to intall software to it. Everytime I try to install new software with Active sync, it keeps coming up with error message :

"Cannot copy the destination file. Make sure the disk on the mobile device is not write protected, and that all setup programs on the device are completed."

I have checked the card is not write protected and still have about 51Mb on the card. I don't know how to check if any setup programs is not completed. Any ideas. I have enclosed my software list as below, just in cse if anyone can tell any conflict(s) or which section of the registry file I should be looking at to check if any problem has not been shut down properly?? May be I don't know what I am talking about!!

Is the SD card from Sandisk?

Sandisk cards seem to have more than their share of compatibility problems (including the symptoms you are describing).

If it is a Sandisk card, my advice is to exchange it for a different brand. My personal recommendation is Panasonic.

Thanks for the tip. I was wondering could it be my SD card, it's a Toshiba. Don't know where to start looking to resolve this problem :x . I can install SW to my CF card using a PCMCIA sleeve. Strange. If I move al the files from the SD card to my PC, format the card, then move all the files back to the SD card, will it work??

Have you done a soft reset on the Pocket PC? If not, try that first.

If that doesn't help, then I'd try moving the files, formatting the SD card and then moving the files back.

If you or a friend has another brand of SD card of the same capacity, you may want to see if it has a similar problem. If so, then that would rule out the SD card as the problem. You could also try your SD card in another PPC to try to isolate the problem.

Hi there, this is what I have done, disabled all the programs that run from the SD card, copy all programs to my notebook, format card, put all the programs back onto SD card like it was before... at this point I am having problem with the temp internet folder, I suspect it was one of the temp internet file causing the problem, empty the folder. Insert the CD card back into the ipaq, soft rest PPC, re-initialise card. Everyting starts to work again...

Thanks a lot mate.
