<a href="http://www.brains-n-brawn.com/default.aspx?vDir=nosink">http://www.brains-n-brawn.com/default.aspx?vDir=nosink</a><br /><br />This system uses GPS, Google, Messenger and a few other systems and API's to keep you about as up to date as you can be. "It uses a PocketPC with a CompactFlash to overlay your current position on maps generated from MapPoint .NET. Then, it will notify you through Pocket MSN Messenger if you walk close to a restaurant/store that is running a lunch special/sale, with a link to view the ad on Pocket IE. Also, it will show you other users that are nearby on the map and allow you to initiate a chat with them through Pocket MSN Messenger."<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/hansberry/2002/20020905-madmap.jpg" /><br /><br />Thanks to Jimmy Dodd for the link.

Not the most elegant solution that I've seen, but WOW! That is some pretty neat stuff they've got going on.

I would think that this would be even more cool with one of the XDAs

I just got a GPS unit and it's one of the best toys I've ever had. Solutions like this seem really killer for mobile devices.

Better yet, the HP 928 WDA. The only wire you would have is to the GPS antenna.

Now if we could just get a bluetooth GPS! Does anybody have a bead on GPS receiver with bluetooth built in?

Hmmm, nice bit of kit, but also a lot of money to get something which is next to useless

'walk past a restaraunt and be informed of a special offer'

Please people think about that for a moment, you'd deserve a doin over from the geek police for informing your friends where you got that info from.

I've always wanted to connect my maestro to a phone other than the Audiovox 9XXX series... Does anyone have any info on what phones would work in that respect? Thanks.

They have them for many other models of PDAs and phones.
