This is yet one more very creative and flexible way, this time using standard HTML. Combined with Internet connectivity, this can be a killer feature!<br /><br />"Today’s HTML is an add-in that lets you customize the Today Screen. ... Display custom text, your favorite pictures and hyperlinks – anything you can view in a web page. Even animated themes, AvantGo pages, ActiveX controls and JavaScript are supported."<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/todayhtml_01.jpg" />

I tried this plugin using the Dashboard Today Plug-in and it just doesn't play nice. It actually causes Dashboard to blank out.

If anybody gets this to work, please let me know, I think this would be a really nice addition to Dashboard

Is this only for the newer devices I wonder? Can't get it to run on the E125 at all - doesn't appear in the 'Items' list for Today - ?

It only mentions ARM chip under its requirements on PocketGear, so it probably wouldn't work on a 125. You can try Active Today from Novosec instead, which does pretty much the same thing, but will work on MIPS devices as well.

Loosing my sight in my old age - thought I had read it thoroughly!

Really cool! I see great uses for many scenarios - both consumer and business. I hardly use any Today plug-ins at all as I think they mess up my otherwise so nice and "clean" welcome screen, but this one could be an exception.

This is all good feedback for us!

We're releasing a version that'll work on devices other than ARM very soon.

If you have any feature requests, send them to [email protected]! We'll try and build them in for the next release.

BTW It wasn't designed with Dashboard in mind but we'll work on it next.

Hope it lives up to expectations.

Regards, Jerry

I installed this and whipped up my own google search page and it ROCKS having goole on the Today screen of my Phone Edition. Just click "GO" and it grabs a GPRS connection, searches google and gives me the results. Very cool!
