I have a reliable GPRS connection.
I can (semi) reliably establish a VPN connection over GPRS to my desktop (and another system on the network)

When I try to do an activesync, the PC will notice that something is trying to connect and set the icon to green. It then sits there like a lemon and finally gives up.

Whats going on? :(
Is it because the VPN is established to the same machine as that which the ActiveSync is on?

Did you insert your specific desktop IP address into the WINS setting?

No, but I used Pocket Hosts to put an hosts entry in for it. It also *starts* the sync, and the PC recognises that the device is connecting, but never gets furthur than that.

Having a similar problem - I am able to connect to my VPN and it shows the incomming connection to CPU A - I then try to activesync through CPU A to CPU B. But it doesnt work. It used to with my PPC2002 device but I am running PPC2002 now. Do I need to run Pockethosts? I read somewhere that you dont need to on a WM2003 device.
