I have been having problems using a Navman GPS1000 in the
PCMCIA sleeve for my 568.

The GPS1000 works fine in the CF slot. But will not work in a
CF->PCMCIA adaptor in the PCMCIA sleeve.

The reason for this configuration is that I use the multimedia
card slot in the sleeve to hold the maps. This way I do not
have to clog up the 568's memory with the maps.

Navman have said that there is a driver issue that they are
looking at. Why is the sleeve any different from the CF slot?

Other CF cards wort fine in this configuration. I have tried
different CF->PCMCIA adaptors.

Has anybody else tried the GPS1000 in this configuration?
Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mike.

It should work. The only thing I can think of is the COM port assignments for the PC Card and CF Card. I am not too familiar with the NAVMAN, but you should be able to choose your COM port settings for the GPS.

Usually devices will in either the PCCARD slot and CF slot share drivers, all the cards I have work in either.

Hope this helps...
