So have you tried it? I also noticed they seem to list an x-scale version, I wonder if this is a real X-scale version, or just the arm version that will also run on the x-scale? I notice that there does not appear to be anytype of demo version.

I am very familar with web servers (in fact, I have developed and supported one for the last 7 years). I have a simple question. What possible uses can there be for a web server running on a Pocket PC? About the only one I can think of, is to hook it up to a wireless 3G network and add a web cam, to watch the kids or watch the office.

Any other uses?

When I'm teaching a class, I might have supplemental material that I want to make available for only those students. Instead of setting up a secure portion of my website, I could have them on my PPC's web server. The students could view/download the material during the class.

I don't see a point to this application. Web server, I can understand it being useful for information sharing. But chat server? Why not just have some sort of p2p type chat client that works over any IP connection? Such as AIM. AIM supports chat rooms. Not just direct IM chat and its all client to client. No middleware server required.

ISS:
Microsoft has hidden in their "SQL Server Digital Dashboard" product a sort of MIni ISS Server, whick can be installed and run on the Pocket PC. With this you can execute your local ASP pages for example. This is obviousely not supported my Microsoft, but here's what to do:

1) Download SQLDASH.EXE from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=29414

2) Use Winzip to unzip the executable under C:\sqldash\SQLDash\PPC\PPCSetup.exe

3) search for httpp300.arm.CAB (or. sh3 oder mips, dependingon Pocket PC) in folder sqldash\SQLDash\PPC\PPCSetup.

4) Copy this file to your device and use file-explorer to start the unpacking.

I did this but the ASP files are not executing
