Does the cradle charge the Jornada 568 when it is plugged in? It doesn't seem to charge it. I also see another connector next to the usb plug which goes into the computer. Am I supposed to plug the ac adapter into that plug? It doesn't seem to fit.

The cable will not charge the device just by having it plugged into your computer's USB port. You must have the AC adapter plugged in, too. If you can't get the AC adapter plugged into the cradle, try turning one of the plugs 180 degrees; it should fit.

If you wish to charge and synch your Jornada through a USB port you can purchase a cable to do exactly this.iConcepts' PDA USB Sync & Charger[b], and they've come out with one for the Jornada 5xx series. With this cable, you can charge and sync your Jornada from the USB port on your computer, without the normally-necessary spare electrical outlet for the wall adaptor.

[b]Belkin and Seidio have similar products as well...

Just be sure to turn off the screen charging or it will take a long time the draw of current to display a full bright screen is about the same as the charge being delivered to the battery...
