Who's going to build the Dell Pocket PC?

I think I know the answer to this one since I work closely with Dell in the large corporate where I work and I know Dell have a dual sourcing policy for everything they sell.

This means they will be looking to two suppliers for the Pocket PC so Wistron and HTC will both be making them (or Wistron and somebody else).

This is interesting and Steddy's statement makes sense, though I wonder how this works when Dell does so little, if any of the design work on their portables.

I read one report that said right in the title that the new Dell would have only a 4096 color display. Anyone here able to confirm that? I can't find the article again, but it was not just some user posting, it was a news article.

That would be a real drawback for me. I am also curious how the $199 sale price for the Toshiba plays into this. Finaly, there is the release date and feature set of the expected Ipaq 2200 and the mysterious non-appearence of the low-power X-Scale.

There sure are a lot of mysteries in the low, consumer, end of the PPC pool.

I really wish HTC would make it as both my favorite PPCs (iPAQ and XDA) are made by them. However, the "dual sourcing policy" sounds like smart stategy.
