Hi, Does anyone know how to set up GPRS access correctly with the iPaq GPRS jacket? I have tried and failed. Whenever I tried to connect it came up with defining PDP context, after a while an error message display

'disconnected, communication error when defining PDP context:failed to read on serial port, serial time-out has expired'

Any ideas, when I put the SIM back to the phone, it works!! :?

Another proble I had is with the Compaq wireless card WL110, I can access the internet via an access point at the beginning, and now it keep coming up with the pages not found, I can browse the local network. Tried various settings in connection manager, nothing. I am confused. :x

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Joe

I have been trying to get this working and I think you have solved my problem. I guess I was using the country code +44 (UK) but forgetting to drop the 0 for the area code. The link is a real help. Strange how you forget the simple things sometimes. Cheers :-)

Is anyone else in the USA using one of these?

I've got an AT&T Wireless mMode SIM card.

I can get the GSM/Voice part to work just great.

The GPRS part is another story.

HELP!!! Please...............

This message is to Martin, you're welcome.

Secondly, Hi Matilda, have you tried the link I put in previous message, although the setup is for UK, but the principle is the same. Cheers. :D

Are you using the GPRS/GSM jacket? What PDA are you using?

Hi Matilda,

I use my ipaq 3870 with Nokia 6310i via bluetooth, works fine, my service provider in the UK is O2, in their web site, they have some useful detup procedure for GPRS, try the following link.

http://www.o2.co.uk/productsservices/mobileweb/gettingstarted/0,,141,00.html

Although your GPRS provider is different but I think the principle is the same, you can also try to download their software for GPRS connection, the software is free.

Here is the link

Cheers
