Hello,

As many of you are probably aware, we conducted a survey of ebook readers
this past spring to help fill the informational void regarding the ebook
market. Well, the results are finally in and you can read about them here
http://knowbetter.com/ebook/surveys/2002spring_results.asp. There are a few
potentially surprising results and, for those of you tuned in to the market,
perhaps not so surprising conclusions which can be drawn from the data.
Either way, from my discussions with ebook readers over the years, I think
the results are pretty representative. I hope you'll take a moment to check
it out.

This is the first in a series of surveys. Through this series, we hope to
paint a clearer picture of the market -- its needs and wants, who it
includes, etc. -- so that publishers, manufacturers, developers, and the
media can better tailor their products to meet your needs. In fact, the 2nd
survey is available now and you can access it here:
http://knowbetter.com/survey.asp.

We had a great response to the first survey and we're hoping to do even
better for this new survey. The more people who participate, the more
accurate the results will be. So, we want to get as many ebook users
participating as possible. Please pass this along to your friends and
colleagues and encourage them to participate. If you have any questions or
comments, feel free to contact me directly.

Best,

I've started a new thread about these studies and the results. So, in order to keep the discussion unified, please post comments here:
