This may be a dumb question. I've got a Jornada 568 which can talk to my PC here at work via the Symbol 802.11b CF card.

I can sync no problem, as long as in my connections settings, I choose "the network card connects to: WORK".

However, with that setting, I cannot access the web.

If I change that setting to "The Internet", I can surf, but can't sync.

Under the Work Settings options, there is a checkbox that says, "this network connects to the Internet", which would suggest that that would let me sync and surf, however whenever I check the box, it doesn't stay checked. If I re-enter that setting screen, the box is unchecked again.

It's very frustrating!! Can anyone help???

This is a known bug and fatal flaw with Connection Manager. There is no fix and no solution - the current method you have of switching back and forth is the only workaround.

This is a known bug ...

Do you have any more info on this bug? I have had some problems with it in the past.

What kind of information would you like? It was reported to Microsoft last year, and they haven't yet fixed it. I don't really know much more than that... :? I never came up during Microsoft internal testing because if you have a corporate proxy server, it doesn't rear it's ugly head in the same fashion.

I have a problem where I've only been able to wirelessly Activesync once or twice and then it will only connect as Guest and not allow me to sync. I think it's because I had to change my Pocket PC name in the About dialog, but I've changed it back and it still doesn't work. Another problem I have is that I use Resco Explorer to map a folder on my PC to my Pocket PC, but it gets an error that says there's already a device with the same name on the network. It will then work if I change the Pocket PC name, but then I can't sync correctly through the cradle. So is there a fix for this? Or is this another known type of bug? Thanks!

Wow, maybe I am missing something here, but I have been happily surfing and syncing over my Socket Low Power WLAN CF card both at work and at home for some time now. 8) I've got an AudioVox Maestro and am connecting to a D-Link DI-713P Access Point/Router/Print Server at home and a SMC SMC2655W Access Point at work.

I did have trouble as you described until I set up my connection settings with all three entries to "Work." (Thanks, Jon.) Since then, no problems.

When I am on the road and need to dial up over my Nextel phone then I change the first entry to my configured Nextel Connection in order to be online. That is the only time I have to change settings.
