http://www.pdabuyersguide.com/tmobile.htm

Hot off the digital presses, PDA Buyers Guide.com has a review of the T-Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition! That thing needs a shorter name - pt (who's birthday is today incidentally) calls it his "T-phone". Not a bad name! Good review worth checking out. I could have sworn the battery was 1500 mAH though - yet after searching for a bit, I can't seem to find confirmation of that. It certainly performs like it has a big battery - I'm running tests on it now, and the lasting power is extremely impressive. But back to the review...

"I really didn't think I'd love this device. I thought I'd like it, but once I experienced it in person, the T-Mobile is definitely a gadget to die for. The styling, courtesy of HTC, the same folks who designed the iPAQ is lovely: slightly smaller than a naked iPAQ, it's curvy, slim and comfy in the hand. The screen is quite nice for a 12 bit 4,096 color display (most other Pocket PCs have 16 bit 65,000 color displays these days), and is comparable to a 3600 series iPAQ. It is more uniformly lit and has better color saturation than Toshiba Pocket PCs, despite the lower specs. The stylus fits into the antenna housing, and the mail and home keys found on most Pocket PCs have been replaced by call Send and End buttons (at the bottom, next to the directional pad)."

Mobile Planet lists the battery as 1500 mAH as well.

Hmmm Finally every T-Mobile GSM phone is a T-Phone!?

Some thoughts here:

- Why isn't the US Edition called MDA like the European one?
- Why not calling it T-DA instead of T-Phone?

Some background information for you guys out of Germany. When the Deutsche Telekom rebranded itself in the 90's - here in Germany, they added the "T" to everything here:

- Shops: T-Punkt (Point)
- Hotline: T-Service
- GSM Shares: T-Mobile
- ADSL: T-DSL
- ISDN: T-ISDN
- and so on, and so on...
Germany became a republic of magenta "Ts". Thankfully we still drink coffee instead of T... ;-)
