Ladies and Gentlemen

I am known as a lover of the BE 300 and it is my pleasure to keep you informed about developments. This has been my joy in life to POKE the PPC users who said " The BE300 is not worth the price you paid" , "It's a week PDA" and so on and so on.

Well along the road we captured games, apps, skins, dress up's, PPC lok and feel.

So it is with great excitment I bring news of a melding of the 2 best things ever run on the BE300. KC Menu2 and Epod ( MX and XP ).

Now before I go further I will have to state for the record I am a PPC user as well as I own and operate a Casio E-125 ( PPC 2000 ) , and I am amaized at what this powerful little baby does.

That said My BE300 is always blowing the doors off the E125......and now most Strong Arm units as well. This little 166mgz chip is a wonder horse.

So don't believe me???? Asking what am I going on about???????

PPC2002 has Flash Animated Today screen. It was amaizing when it hit the market!

Yes it has advanced a little and the animations are getting there.

***EDIT*** We dont need Flash, tho we have flash player as well :)

So why am I saying the BE300 is better now????
See for yourself and I have crying towels ready for you Strong Arm users!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hm....nice screenshots. but is that the biggest benefit of the BE300 that you can brag about?

isn't it true that the BE300 can't run most pocket pc apps? if that's true, i would take a "real" PPC (like my maestro) anyday over a BE300 with nice today screen graphics.

i'd rather take working applications than nice animations.

A good counter-point. This is technically a thread that should be on the "off-topic" forum (because it's not a Pocket PC), but I thought I'd leave it here for some interesting discussion. I'm really impressed at what BE-300 enthusiasts have been able to acomplish, but the reality is that with Pocket PC developers making apps just for ARM, the software selection for BE-300 owners is rapidly dwindling as newer apps come out.

And I have to admit I didn't like the quality of the screen...it wasn't anywhere near as nice as the Casio E-12x.

:) Glad you guys took the poke better then most, please don't for a min think I believe our BE 300 will ever knock off it's bigger brother. Just wanted to raise an eye brow or two.

Well I for one hope that software designers don't build for just the ARM. That is why I am so brash and forward. A good poke every now and then in hopes a develpoer will notice what we can run.

spursdude:

As a rule we can not run anything related to Pocket Office ( PPC apps ). As most files dealing with that are wired in the chips.
Apps like Pocket Strees and trips 2000 and 2001 we have running

The rest of the feild is wide open and we are gaining more and more of the PPC titles all the time.

With the exception if it is designed for ARM only then we have no chance as a MIPS and ARM are not interchangable.

If the designer makes a MIPS version we have a shot at it running.

i will admit that the BE300 has a fair amount of software for it, and that it does have some handy features over current PPCs.

however, i think that as MIPS devices grow older (sadly enough), the list of new programs for MIPS devices like the BE300 will go down. currently, there is a fair amount of software for MIPS devices because there are plenty of people who are still content with their current device and don't want to shell out $$$ for a new one.

I have never really seen much software out there for the BE300.... where are you finding it?

I did a quick little search on Yahoo and came up with nothing.

(my gf wants a PDA and considering how cheap the BE300 is, it might be a viable option if it has some software available. And the fact that it's pretty is always a plus 8) )

If you are looking for software for the BE 300

Start with Casio.com, it leads to it's partner store Handigo. Titles there range between $5-$10

Now if you are looking for the freeware titles ( many with BE300 install versions )

You could start With some BE300 member sites:

http://welcome.to/be300

There are more and more, but start there look about and if you need more info I am happy to help.

This is true to a point. Casio is offering up cash to software designers and makers to egg on some development. Now if the makers go for it they can win some coin, however alot of people are just wearing blinders thanks to Microsofts paper of what a PPC is to be made from.

They ruled ARM to be where it is at, yes a good business option for them, as now designers only need to worry about one chip to compile for.

I just hope some don't take it as a matter of fact, because there are still MIPS chips around.

Oh well time will tell where it all goes.
