Well, now a verison is available that works with your Pocket PC.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/fossil.jpg" /><br /><br />"Fossil's Wrist PDA-PC is the ultimate companion to your PocketPC! The seamless infrared interface easily downloads the information from your five main handheld applications, stored on your PocketPC into your Wrist PC! The information can then be accessed through the different applications on the watch. Carry your contacts, calendar, tasks, and notes all on your wrist. Other features include a special Today application, customized watch faces, convenient drop down menus, view screen options, EL backlight, and a joystick for easy navigation."<br /><br />I have GOT to see one of these things in action. I've got a friend who has ordered one, so we'll let you know what he thinks of it once it arrives.

There is a nice demo if you go to the web page and click on the link "Wrist PDA is Here" under "New At Fossil." Click the Demo button and you get a demo that shows how the screens look. Pretty neat.

djtip, good question. I was thinking the same. I found a link on Fossil's site, it's HUGE:

On the wrist it looks rather ugly.

Seeing as I carry my iPaq almost everywhere I go, this seems like a redundent accessory. I will add memory LOOOONNNNGGG before I purchase something like this.

Normally, I hate duplication of devices. And I agree that this seems much like a subset of a full fledged PDA. However, if they would just add dive computer capabilities to it, then I could log my dives and be able to do other functions all at depth and then sync up with my PDA (which would obviously have more memory, speed, and better apps) for my more permanent mobile record. THAT would be cool....

Now you're on to something. Unfortunately, scuba gear manufacturers are so far behind when it comes to technology (I am a journalist in the dive industry, so I know about these things) that this will probably never come to fruition, though it should. Why don't we see that this happens?

If you are interested in this watch, check this thread (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12685&highlight=). The watch is available for $29.99...

LOL, I was just complaining to myself how annoying that's getting.

I am going to get one. I am excited!!! I went to a play this weekend and it would have been perfect to have my today screen and contacts with me. As father's day is right around the corner my wife won't complain either :D

Has anyone ordered one from the link given in this thread? (cellular Showroom?) A reliable company? Do they accept returns if you don't like it?

(BTW, they now list the price at $39, not the $29 price quoted in this review. Still cheap for a PDA watch, if it's any good.)

Am I missing something here? I went to the site and they have the price set at $145 USD. Where are you guys seeing $29 or $39? :?:

I ordered one, yep for $145, just because it looks cool and if anything else it will be a nice addition to my 'Geek Collectibles' that is forever growing. 0X

*EDIT* Here is the link I ordered from:

whatta waste. They should make one smaller that doesn't really do anything except function as a display for a Bluetooth enabled PPC, (like my new 2210!) so i can leave the thing in my pocket or bag and still see alarms and such. Now that would be cool. Guess i'll have to wait for all that SPOT technology MS is talking about to come into reality...

You want to leave your PPC in your pocket turned on with Bluetooth activated/running just so it can beam data to your watch the whole time??? Why not just beam the info from the PPC to the watch and only have to worry about the battery on the watch kicking (they claim the 2 batteries last for 1.5 to 3 months) instead of your PPC? I agree that the watch could be made smaller to fit my tastes but can it be built smaller today is the question. Who knows, maybe next year they come out with one the size of a quarter that does the exact same thing, its really no different than the cycle of PPC's we've seen recently. IMHO. :)
